When the European Risk Management Awards were launched 10 years ago, the risk landscape looked very different. Conversations about cyber risk were just beginning, AI was an unknown, and no-one could imagine the global events on the horizon that would completely reshape our entire business environment.

Move forward a decade, and the role of the risk manager has moved away from a specialist function to become a central voice in strategic decision making. By using their considerable skills to balance constantly changing regulations, digital transformation, political and climate challenges and much more, risk managers continue to create strength and resilience for their organisations.

The risk management profession has come a long way over the years, has successfully tackled many risks that have appeared on the horizon, and will continue to do so in the future.

But today, as we celebrate our 10th anniversary of the European Risk Management Awards, we take this opportunity to salute and reward the ingenuity, innovative thinking and creativity of the individuals and teams of risk managers and their supporting industries.

What are the European Risk Management Awards?

The European Risk Management Awards were established by FERMA and Commercial Risk Europe back in 2016 with the aim of raising the awareness of the risk management community and increase its profile within corporates. They reward the achievements of individuals and organisations who fulfil this aim.

Now in our 10th year, some of the leading names in risk management have deservedly celebrated their success in their field – and have taken many steps forward in the journey to spread awareness of this vital role to their peers and the greater community.
