This category is open to individual European in-house senior-level private and public sector corporate risk and insurance managers.

Category description

The Risk Manager of the Year award searches for the inspirational master of risk and insurance management. For this award we are seeking to recognise and highlight the combination of innovation, risk management best practice and the ability to foresee risks and prevent dangerous endgames.

The candidate will have an excellent all-round knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by corporates and the skills to motivate, lead and innovate to create and execute successful risk management programmes.

Who can enter?

This category is open to individual European in-house private and public sector risk and insurance managers with less than five years’ experience.

Category description

The reputation of the risk management profession has been developed over the course of many years, however for this award we are seeking to acknowledge the stars of the future and someone with a fresh view on the profession.

The candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of the successes and failures of the past, but more importantly will have an appetite for innovation to address the developing needs and challenges faced by corporates in today’s rapidly changing environment.

Category description

Innovation thrives in difficult economic times especially as risk becomes ever more interconnected. This category will highlight fresh thinking from risk and insurance managers and / or their collaboratives colleagues when tackling complex risk challenges across their organisation. The award seeks to reward the innovation and, if relevant, internal collaboration in achieving excellence to meet the needs of their firms.

The award will recognise new initiatives that are expected to redefine the industry’s competitive landscape and raises the bar for innovation in risk transfer via insurance programmes that may include traditional insurance, self-insurance solutions and collaborative initiatives such as mutuals.

Who can enter?

This category is open to working or recently retired (within two years) private or public sector individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development or outcomes of a European risk management association.

Category description

The judging tribunal will vote to award this honour to a person for a particular initiative or continued commitment which they believe has made an outstanding, significant and long-lasting contribution to the wider risk management community through their tireless executive or non-executive role/s with a risk management association or associations.

TRAINING & EDUCATION EXCELLENCE 

Who can enter?

This award is open to risk manager associations, insurers, brokers, education bodies, e-learning providers and all firms who can demonstrate a commitment to supporting the development of skills and knowledge amongst risk managers through investing in an existing programme of activity.

Category description

A key topic that has become increasingly important is the development of education, skills and knowledge within the risk management and associated professions.

It reflects the fact that, in today's fast changing world, if risk managers are to remain competent, they must continue to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge. Associations, insurers, brokers and other providers of important services to the risk management community are embracing the drive for providing education and training support to risk managers at all stages of their careers.
