A mechanical engineer by background, Maurizio has more than 30 years of professional experience in risk and insurance management. He has been serving STMicroelectronics as Group Vice President of Corporate Insurance Risk Management since 2000. Through his work, Maurizio has ensured that awareness of risk management and the contribution of risk management are embedded from the top to the bottom of his organisation.

Aston-J is Head of Operational Risk Vitality UK
Aston-J worked in IT in various industries before joining Vitality as an IT risk business partner four years ago. He has translated his knowledge into support for the development of risk management frameworks. At Vitality, he created a new, emerging risk framework that balances external risk research and contributing factors alongside internal business impact.
INNOVATIVE INSURANCE PROGRAMME OF THE YEAR
Gitte Kristiansen
Gitte is Global Head of Pensions & Insurance ISS World Services, Denmark Through her highly innovative approach of analysing data and breaking down silos, Gitte developed a collaborative programme that enabled ISS to better understand relationships between insurance costs, the underlying drivers in claims and handling of claims, and correlated this to sick leave. This programme revealed a world of hidden costs not many companies are yet focusing on. Her initiative has great potential for other organisations.
BUSINESS CONTINUITY PROGRAMME OF THE YEAR
Mykhailo Rushkovskyi
Mykhailo is Head of Risk Management, DTEK, Ukraine
There are few risk managers around the world who have had to take emergency action whilst their country is under the threat of invasion. Mykhailo undertook war risk assessments using a variety of intelligence and information from social media, traditional media and internal data to develop a map of his organisation’s vulnerabilities and develop scenarios with the business. He ran quantitative analytics to better understand how war would affect the organisation and what solutions were possible. He also used quantitative analysis to make better insurance decisions.
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO RISK MANAGEMENT
The Crossrail Elizabeth Line/TFL Risk Management Team
This award is for a team for a particular initiative that the judges believe has made an outstanding, significant and long-lasting contribution to the risk and insurance management community. The risk management team for the new London Underground Crossrail Elizabeth Line have set a new best practice standard in risk management for complex underground works. In doing so, they have delivered an impressive new rail system also capturing and leaving a legacy of risk management expertise.

Visicover Marine Leisure Product Development
Visicover was initially launched to cater for the UK general aviation market and in 2018 they expanded the service to cater for the general aviation markets in nine other European countries.
Visicover’s model is product independent, so following their successful international roll out, they decided to leverage their experience to develop a brand new policy to cater for owners of leisure marine vessels. Their approach has been highly innovative.

Parsyl’s insurance team is redefining insurance for perishable food and pharmaceuticals shipped annually, by using granular supply chain data to identify and price risk, all while helping customers lower their risk and reduce waste of essential goods.
Parsyl insures goods in food, pharmaceuticals and life science industries as well as logistics participants within the perishable supply chain.
CLAIMS INNOVATION OF THE YEAR
Blink Parametric Lost Luggage
Blink have developed a unique parametric solution that enables consumers to purchase emergency items in the event of lost luggage.
Blink improves the client process by providing them with visibility of real-time claims activity, dashboard and full reporting analysis in a client ‘self-service’ environment which is very compelling and reflective of the future demands on insurtech.
GLOBAL PROGRAMME INNOVATION OF THE YEAR
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions International Programmes Virtual Captive
The virtual captive concept was first applied to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions international program clients within the past year. This is a new approach for virtual captives and continues their mission of empowering risk managers to better own their insurance programs.
The virtual captive is a streamlined option that retains the risk financing mechanics of a captive.
SYSTEMIC RISK SOLUTION OF THE YEAR
Marsh ESG Risk Rating
Marsh have built the industry’s only in-depth, free, risk-focused ESG assessment tool and ESG Risk Rating was launched on March 21, 2022.
It helps organisations understand how their current sustainability actions measure up to the international standards that they may be assessed against.

Zurich Connector API Solution (bi-directional data exchange)
Zurich are helping customers leverage their insurance and risk management data efficiently while addressing increasing regulation.
Since Zurich launched its Zurich API connector, they have seen significant customer reductions in the administrative burden and costs, as well as a more seamless collaboration between all parties, all of which leads to tangible cost and time savings.

Zurich Commercial Insurance Customer and Broker Webinar Series
The Zurich Commercial Insurance Customer and Broker Webinar Series has been running since the start of the pandemic back in April 2020, when they were forced to cancel face-to-face events.
The series was designed to help educate and inform risk managers about current topics and trends in the insurance industry, giving them the chance to gain insights from industry experts.
The webinar series has generated a number of impressive results. In the past two years, they have had risk managers joining from 45 different countries and over 1,200 risk managers have taken part.
