The European Risk Management Awards 2023 are now OPEN!

Over the last few years, the risk management profession has encountered a combination of challenges they may never have experienced before. From natural catastrophes to war and political violence, inflation and supply chain constraints, allied with changes to working habits and the Great Resignation leading on from the pandemic, risk managers have had no choice but to veer away from tradition and innovate in order to fulfil their ever-growing job description.

ESG considerations are also becoming increasingly important for corporates, covering everything from greenhouse gas emissions, greenwashing, impact on biodiversity, through DEI, modern slavery and human rights, to corporate governance, independent oversight and reporting. In this context too, risk and insurance managers will be expected to play an important role in their businesses.

One positive outcome is that the risk manager voice has been heard more frequently at board level. Risk managers with strategic risk management programmes have proved their worth to the corporate top management and have enabled a proper two-way conversation.

The European Risk Management Awards were established with the aim of raising the awareness of the risk management community and increase its profile within corporates. We are pleased to see this is happening and delight in the success of the worthy winners and finalists who have taken part since these awards were established in 2016.

These individuals and teams have all demonstrated excellence and best practice in their role, whether in a corporate risk management function, or as an industry partner providing important support and services to the risk management community.

 What's new this year?

This year, we are excited to announce a new category to reward the achievements of those who are involved at an executive level within a European risk management national association, whether large or small.

The Outstanding Contribution to the Risk Management Profession award will be awarded by the jury to a deserving individual who has made a significant contribution to the wider risk management community in their country.

We are delighted to announce that the 7th European Risk Management Awards is now open, and invite you to submit your nominations for this year’s programme.

Good luck!

Deadline for entries is Friday, 19 May 2023
