    The effective risk management of complex risk challenges often requires a collective approach involving the risk department with other teams within an organisation. The Collaboration of the Year award will highlight the achievement on risk mitigation through teams coming together to work in partnership to foster innovation in order to meet new risk parameters.

    This category is open to private and public sector individual risk and insurance managers or risk and insurance management teams and / or their collaborative colleagues from within their organisation.

    The ability of organisations to absorb and recover from shocks, whilst positively adapting and transforming their structures in the face of long-term stresses, change and uncertainty was highlighted by the outbreak of COVID-19.

    The pandemic has arguably presented some of the biggest and most unique challenges the corporate and public risk sector has ever experienced and highlighted the need for risk and insurance managers to practice and maintain a resilient, innovative and agile approach against all forms of risks in order to safeguard losses and protect staff and customers.

    This special award seeks to reward an individual risk manager, a risk management team and /or their collaborative colleagues who have shown excellence in creating and implementing a resilient crisis management and risk strategy.

    • The ability to remain resilient and to solve complex problems through a creative approach to tackling a crisis
    • The creation and expert execution of an innovative and agile crisis management programme to deal with a crisis
    • Ensure business continuity including the anticipation of the end of the crisis and organisation of the strategic and operational aspects of the recovery and the associated risks and opportunities
    • Successful project management and team working, demonstrable results obtained so far, how the initiative benefited their organisation and protected staff and customers
    • How this initiative has redefined the business / operations process, improved the practice of crisis management planning within the risk management framework and strengthened the overall operation and resilience of the organisation.

    This category is open to private and public sector individual risk and insurance managers or risk and insurance management teams and / or their collaborative colleagues from within their organisation.

    The judging tribunal will vote to award this honour to a person, team or company for a particular initiative which they believe has made an outstanding, significant and long lasting contribution to the risk and insurance management community.

    This exceptional award will only be offered by the judges when an entry of a particularly high standard has been received.

    This award is open to insurance firms only and is designed to reward companies that have truly made a lasting impact on innovation to meet their customer needs.

    Fostering the themes of partnership and innovation, the winner of this award will not be judged on size or scale, but on their focus to addressing customer requirements though an entrepreneurial culture practiced throughout the organisation.

    This award is open to risk manager associations, insurers, brokers, education bodies, e-learning providers and all firms who can demonstrate a commitment to supporting the development of skills and knowledge amongst risk managers through investing in an existing programme of activity.

    A key topic that has become increasingly important is the development of education, skills and knowledge within the risk management and associated professions.

    It reflects the fact that, in today's fast changing world, if risk managers are to remain competent, they must continue to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge.
