Welcome to the European Risk Management Awards 2025

"The world landscape is changing. Risks change every day, the world we are in now isn't the world we were in five years ago. You look forward, it's going to continue to change."

Kevin Steed, Head of Group Insurance, AstraZeneca, UK. Winner, Innovative Insurance Programme of the Year 2024.

In a world of change and upheaval, navigating a winding path through the disruptive forces at play in our current landscape can seem like a challenging prospect. It is at times like these that the job of risk manager can be compared to an army quartermaster, a scout leader, a conductor of an orchestra or even a cowboy.

Rounding up and making sense of all of the uncontrollable elements of the current environment, turning confusion and chaos into sense and order, bringing stability to an organisation and carving a route out of uncertainty that allows a successful business to continue to grow and flourish – this is part of the risk manager job description.

Over the past few years, one thing has become clear – behind every great risk manager lies a team of great people. Silos have become a thing of the past, and the future lies in communication and collaboration. Innovation drives change.

What are the European Risk Management Awards?

A constant in a shifting landscape are the European Risk Management Awards, which recognise the achievements of individuals and teams of ERM and insurance managers, as well as those insurers, brokers and other industries that support them in the excellent work they do to ensure European corporate organisations steer a clear course ahead.

The European Risk Management Awards were established by FERMA and Commercial Risk Europe back in 2016 with the aim of raising the awareness of the risk management community and increase its profile within corporates. They reward the achievements of individuals and organisations who fulfil this aim.

Since then, some of the leading names in risk management have deservedly celebrated their success in their field – and have taken many steps forward in the journey to spread awareness of this vital role to their peers and the greater community. Click here to view last year's winners.

This year, we're very excited to announce that the presentation ceremony will be taking place in Zurich on Wednesday 22 October, the evening before the FERMA Seminar begins on 23-24 October.

We're delighted to announce the first finalists for this year's awards. Further finalists will be announced soon!
